The third week of October gave us a lot to remember! Let us see what the fourth week has in store for us.

40th Annual Holiday Food and Gift Festival at the Tacoma Dome, October 20-23, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Christmas is coming! The largest holiday show in the West is once again coming to town. Join the 40th Annual Holiday Food and Gift Festival at the Tacoma Dome on October 20 to 23. Click this link for more details. 

Superfolk Festival: An event by Northwest Folklife, October 21-22, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Northwest Folklife and Whippoorwill Arts collaborated to produce the SuperFolk Festival, which was co-presented by Tacoma Arts Live and the Washington State Historical Society. This two-day festival displays the brilliance, depth, and breadth of folk music, showcasing its ability to connect traditions of the past while opening new pathways into the future. SuperFolk will feature Washington-based artists invited by NW Folklife as well as national/international artists from Whippoorwill Arts' Fellowship program. Click this link for more details. 

Haunted History Ghostly Tales of DuPont and Legends, October 21, from 7 p.m.
Join the Dupont Historical Society and Dupont Museum for this spooktacular storytelling! Everyone will be outside, so bring a chair and a flashlight and join them for some spooky stories! 12 years old and older (ages 12-16 must be accompanied by an adult). Karaoke Oly, October 21, 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Join the Olympia Lamplighters for a Karaoke on television! All ages are welcome. Masks must be worn. This event is held every month on the third Friday from 7-8 p.m. The show may be seen on TCMedia channel 22 and on YouTube. A $5 donation is encouraged. Click this link for more details. 

My Morbid Mind Haunted House Attraction, October 21-22, 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
My Morbid Mind Haunted House originally appeared as a Halloween decoration on the doorstep of a residence in the Lacey area. To get to the front door and collect their treats, trick-or-treaters had to sneak through a little maze of horrors. This year looks to be the finest yet with a ton of new rooms, props, animatronics, pneumatics, and special effects! Do come down! if you're brave. Click this link for more details.

The Haunted Theatre by Tacoma City Ballet, October 21, from 7 p.m.

The Last Days of Judas Iscariot by Stephen Adly Guirgis, October 21-22, from 7:30 p.m.
An immersive theater experience that combines comedy and drama in a realm that shifts between paradise and hell. The Last Days of Judas Iscariot revisits the destiny of the New Testament's most infamous villain, a traitor who betrayed his Lord for 30 pieces of silver. Caution: Some character depictions and behaviors that are triggering for audience members may challenge and/or offend viewers. Click this link for more details.

Autumn Secondhand Safari Sale, October 21-22
Garage sale = Swap Meet = Craft Vendors. Join the Thurston CountyFair Foundation to shop or host your own booth!  Indoor and outdoor spaces are available. Proceeds from booth applications will help fund Fair Foundation projects, restorations, and improvements, to the Thurston County Fairgrounds. The fairgrounds are visited by thousands of community members every year and are the home of the youth 4-H, FFA, and other development projects. Lord Franzannian's Royal Olympian Spectacular Vaudeville Show, October 21-23, from 7:30 p.m.
There will be juggling, clowning, burlesque, comedy, dance, music, and even amazing feats of strength! Come watch this hilarious frolic of live entertainment, including outstanding local talent, hosted by storyteller Elizabeth Lord. Profits go to performers and BigShowCity, a non-profit performing arts organization whose goal is to encourage emerging artists financially and emotionally as they pursue their dreams. Boo Bash!, October 22-31, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The well-loved Halloween special of Hands On Children’s Museum is on! Dress up in your favorite costumes and bring your little ghosts, dinos, superheroes, and princesses to the Hands On Children’s Museum for a spooktacular good time. Enjoy Halloween-inspired fun and exciting activities without the fright. Special event activities operate 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Activities vary depending on the day of the week and may be added at any time. See the online event calendar for dates and times. Sensory-Friendly Pumpkin Patch, October 22, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
It's finally here! A Pumpkin Patch for Everyone (and it is also sensory-friendly)! The community room will be transformed into a pumpkin patch, complete with space to paint or carve your favorite pumpkin. Avoid crowds and noise, leave the mess at home, and relax in a sensory-friendly environment for exploration, creativity, and fun. Fun for people of all ages and abilities! A fee of $25.00 per pumpkin artist includes: Pumpkin from the "patch", a Cider, a Photo with your pumpkin creation in the "patch", Paint and a variety of paintbrush handles for accessibility, a Variety of carving tools for accessibility, a Pumpkin Patch Farmer assistants (Sensory Tool House Event Staff, and Sensory Games. Simpson Railroad Pumpkin Pickers Special, October 22-23, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Peninsular Railway and Lumbermen's Museum will host their third Simpson Railroad Pumpkin Pickers Special on October 22 and 23, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Like in previous years, the family will enjoy this event. You may enjoy a train trip, and kids can choose a pumpkin to take home. Also new this year is the opportunity to enter the museum building first; depending on the age of the children, it may already be haunted and a lot more. Don't forget to mark your calendar for this event, which is one of the most well-attended ones. Click this link for more details.

Chehalis-Centralia Railroad's Pumpkin Train, October 22-23, from 1 p.m.
All aboard the Pumpkin Express - bound for nowhere! The Chehalis-Centralia Railroad's Pumpkin Train will not depart the station due to track problems, but there will be plenty of fun aboard the train on Saturday and Sunday, October 22 & 23, for the 1:00 or 3:00 pm events. Participate in the celebrations by dressing up in costume. There will be games and excitement in the passenger coaches, as well as goody bags of treats and pumpkins for children under the age of 15. Vision Gathering on Olympia Armory, October 22, from 2 p.m.
For three decades, Olympia residents have advocated for a dedicated art space to support the arts as an integral part of the Olympia way of life, to encourage community growth through creativity and innovation, to use the arts to connect people, ideas, and place, and to operate from an equity framework. In response to this call to action, the Parks, Arts, and Recreation hope to make use of the 50,000 sq. ft. -Armory facility to be used for this essential task. Be sure to visit the Armory for the Vision Gathering on Saturday, October 22, at 2 p.m. After a year-long concept design and visioning phase with over 1,500 direct participants and roughly 4,500 web visitors,  it is exciting to share an Armory Creative Campus Concept Design and Operations Draft Plan with the community. Futurism: Silent Art Auction and Raffle (fundraising gala), October 22, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Come celebrate the autumn season, three years of Olympia Lamplighters, and the artists! This is the final day to purchase Raffle tickets and bid on the Silent Art Auction. The Fall Gala is a fundraiser that includes a silent art auction, a raffle, and an end gala to benefit Olympia Lamplighters. The proceeds from the gala will be used to fund scholarships for memberships and lessons, as well as to update and acquire equipment for classes and public use, as well as to pay teachers and community coordinators for future events and classes. Build Back Better USA's Cup of Joe Organizing Meeting, October 25, 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Join The Democratic National Committee as it holds its weekly meeting and discuss ways to strengthen and support democracy. Build Back Better USA is a grassroots advocacy and action organization that backs the objectives and initiatives of the Biden-Harris administration. They warmly welcome anybody who wants to make sure that our democracy is more equitable, just, inclusive, and diverse, and respects science while still abiding by the law and not breaking it. They will create the difference that only actively involved people can make by cultivating leaders and volunteers, and cooperating with others in current and future coalitions and caucuses, organizations, and grassroots groups! Tarot for Shadow Work, October 27, from 5 p.m.
Integrating the Shadow Self is the most difficult thing a Witch will ever do, but it is also the most important. The darkest parts of the soul are also a part of it. Learn how to use the Tarot to integrate the Shadow Self in this class. Participants will first become acquainted with Jungian Shadow Work in the context of psychology, spend time understanding the language and processes of Shadow Work, and develop an understanding of how to use the cards to know their selves, their own darkness, and how that internal darkness can be integrated into a balanced sense of Self in this 90-minute intensive.
