Unrivaled: The Pianists of Cliburn, February 18, from 7:30 p.m.

Black History Museum at New Life Baptist Church
New Life Baptist Church in Lacey will host an OPEN HOUSE of its Black History Museum on Saturday, February 18 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. in the Morris Fellowship Hall. The museum is a collection of exhibits and displays that include books, posters, magazines, newspapers, tapestries, quilts, photographs, sculptures, calendars, relics, and artifacts spanning several centuries to the present day. Cyd Smith, the Hood River Rogues, and Vince Brown, February 19, 11 a.m. - 1:22 p.m.
Cyd Smith has been called one of the most brilliant innovators in the field of songwriting, and an accomplished guitarist and stellar vocalist who can deliver a self-penned song with depth and charm or give new meaning to a vintage swing standard. For this performance, she will be joined by those Hood River rogues from the wilds of Oregon, steel guitar wizard Ben Bonham and that all-around stand-up guy Ronnie Ontiveros on bass. Craft Supply Swap, February 22, 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Have craft supplies you no longer need? Looking to try a new project but need inspiration? Join a craft swap! First, if you can, donate one bag or box of usable craft supplies at the Lacey Timberland Library between February 13-21. If you can create with it and it's in good working condition, they will take it! Then, drop in anytime between 1:30-4:30 pm on Wednesday, February 22nd to look through our collection of supplies, and take what you like. Don’t have anything to donate? That’s okay! Come by and pick up some materials to explore a new hobby! Any remaining supplies will be donated or used for library programming. Click this link to learn more.

Olympia Garden Club Meeting, February 23, from 9 a.m.
Olympia Garden Club is a group of vibrant people who love gardening. Visitors are welcome at their club meetings which are held at Gull Harbor Lutheran Church, 4610 Boston Harbor Rd. NE in Olympia. The next meeting is on February 23, 2023. Social time is from 9 to 10 a.m. In addition to the business portion, there is a review of horticulture samples from members’ gardens, a report on the habits of various birds, and a floral design of the month. Plants and garden-related items donated by members are for sale at nominal prices. For the program, club member Jeff Johnson will demonstrate how to make “Chinese Liniment for Arthritis. (Good for easing achy muscles after too much gardening!). Attendees usually bring their own lunch, but Board Members will provide lunch at this meeting. Click this link to learn more.

Astoria’s Fisher Poet Festival, February 24-25
This is the first overnighter of 2023, which will center around the lively cultural experience known as the Fisherpoets Gathering! Everyone will travel south by way of Raymond and visit the impressive Carriage Museum, before continuing into charming and historic Astoria for lunch and a chance to explore the downtown venues a bit. The Fisher Poets Gathering, now in its 26th year, attracts poets, songwriters, and storytellers from fishing communities across the nation and beyond. Click this link to learn more.

Champions of Courage, February 25, 6:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Be bold, be brave, be YOU! Champions of Courage is a unique family-friendly fundraising event held at the Hands-on Children's Museum. The event includes a live and silent auction with a professional auctioneer, catered appetizers, wine, and grub grab, and all museum exhibits are open for everyone to enjoy! All proceeds fund the Helping Parent program. Please join the event on Saturday, February 25th from 6:30 to 9:00. This event is family oriented and open to the general public.
