Celebrate Independence Day with Lacey Fireworks Spectacular, a day filled with fireworks, food, music, and fun.  This Independence Day Eve event takes place on Wednesday, July 3 at  Rainier Vista Community Park.

The entire event is free to attend, including the fireworks show, entertainment, and Kid Zone activities. Although attendees may bring their own food, the only purchases are for food vendors for those interested in them.

Pets are allowed at the event, but they must be on a leash. The city also cautioned the attendees to “please be aware of how your pet may respond to large crowds and fireworks.”

Kid Zone

The event starts at 4 p.m. with the Kid Zone and food vendors opening. The Kid Zone features rides, face painting, and live circus shows.

Vuelta La Luna’s Aerial and Cirque Performance inside the zone features aerialists, clowns, acrobatics, jugglers, stilt-walkers, and more.

Catch the show at 4:30 p.m., 6 p.m., or 8 p.m. in the zone, or interact with their roaming entertainment from 4 to 9 p.m. throughout the park.

For more kid-friendly activities, head to the picnic shelter near the tennis courts for free patriotic tattoos, character visits, and balloon animals.

Food and Entertainment

BrickHouse will perform hits from KC and the Sunshine band, Earth, Wind and Fire, The Bee Gees, Kool and the Gang, and more starting at 5 p.m.

Mr. Pink will then electrify attendees with a dance party at 8 p.m. Covering the greatest dance music, Mr. Pink performs everything with a millennial mash-up remix flair.

The 2024 food vendors include OlymPITA, Funnel of Love, Kona Ice of Olympia, Heavenly Eats, La Chaparrita, Cinco de Mayo Fruits & More, Chaotic Eats, Egg Roll Hut, Campers Coffee, Tacos California, Sunshine Scoop Ice Cream, J&L Ears and Rootbeers, Sugar+Spoon, Tacos y Tortas, The Old Red Barn Popping Co., Hidalgos Barbacoa, Sweetlee’s Ice Cream, Breakthrough Huli Huli, Fat Zach’s Pizza, Meggie’s Lumpia, and Pineapple Dole Whip.

Fireworks

The kid-friendly activities close at 9:15 p.m. to give way for the preparation of the fireworks show, which starts at 10 p.m.

The fireworks set with music can be augmented this year with a free pair of 3D glasses. Attendees may pick up glasses starting June 10 at Lacey Collision, Capital Collision, or their booth on the day of the event while supplies last.

Parking and shuttle service

The Rainier Vista parking lot opens to the public at 3 p.m. with free but limited space. There is also a free shuttle bus service.

The free shuttle buses depart from the school parking lots: Timberline High School at 6120 Mullen St SE, Mountain View Elementary at 1900 College St SE, and Lakes Elementary at 6211 Mullen Rd SE. Shuttles will run to and from the park at 15-minute intervals to pick up or drop off attendees between 3:30 and 9:30 p.m.

After the fireworks show, the buses will drop off everyone back at the three school lots. All buses will stop at all schools, and attendees are encouraged to load onto the first bus in the line.
