Man with drug trafficking history arrested anew

Posted

A man previously arrested for unlawful possession of fentanyl with intent to deliver was arrested once again by the Thurston County Sheriff's Office (TCSO) for alleged drug trafficking and attempting to elude police, TCSO reported on their social media post.

On January 14, TCSO initially arrested the individual, whose name it had withheld, for the possession of fentanyl with the intent to distribute.

The man was released on a promise to return to court without the requirement of posting a monetary bail after his preliminary hearing in Thurston County Superior Court.

One of the conditions of his release explicitly forbade him from committing any new law violations.

However, on January 30th, just 16 days later, TCSO's Narcotics Task Force received information indicating that the same person was actively involved in the illegal sale of narcotics in defiance of the court order.

Acting on this information, the task force located the suspect in downtown Olympia.

Upon spotting law enforcement, the suspect attempted to evade arrest by fleeing in a vehicle, but detectives quickly cornered and arrested him.

During the second arrest, the suspect was found again with a suspected fentanyl substance.

The suspect promptly paid the $15,000 bail posted by the court for his second offense and is currently back in the community.

“Fentanyl overdose is the leading cause of death in Thurston County,” TCSO pointed out.

Thurston county judges are corrupt and need to be recalled. This is yet another instance in a long line of horrible decisions letting criminals run free in our community.

It appears that a $15,000 bail may be too low. Some questions, why no bail for the first arrest? Does the judge really think the person will show up for a hearing, and how far out is this hearing scheduled? Isn't the name of the individual a matter of public record at this point and, if so, why isn't it being reported?

I’d like some overall numbers per judge on no bail releases for repeat offenders.

My goodness, can you imagine? A career criminal breaking a promise? What has the world come to?

He probably had the bail money in cash in his pocket.

What is this low life's name? FOr that matter, what is the name of the judge who let him off the chain AGAIN? That's a judge I will vote against once re-election time comes around.

PUBLISH THE NAMES AND CONTACT INFORMATION FOR JUDGES WHO ARE FAILING OUR COMMUNITY. So much is made of the "left" vs the "right" in this country, but if judges actually enforced the laws already on the books in a rational way it would help alleviate a lot of problems.
