July is undoubtedly turning out to be a fun month. Join any of the events below to support locals!

 

Olympia Lakefair Races, Saturday, July 15, 7 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Set for its 46th year, the Olympia Lakefair Races are part of a weekend-long running festival that features a Half Marathon, 8K, and 3K; taking runners on routes that will circle the town of Olympia and beyond into Thurston County and Tumwater. Once runners have completed the course, they can enjoy festival activities that are held all around Heritage Park, including food and beer tents, carnival rides, booths, a parade, and more. 2023 Joint Base Lewis-McChord Airshow & Warrior Expo, Weekend, July 15-16, from 9 a.m.
The event will occur at McChord Field – JBLM’s first airshow in seven years. The all-day event is free, open to the public, and will feature the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds. Gates open at 9 a.m., and flying starts at 11:30 a.m. Click this link for more details.

Lavender Festival, Saturday, July 15, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Evergreen Valley Lavender Farm (EVLF) will celebrate its 14th year as Thurston County's oldest operating U-Pick lavender farm. They are small but mighty, with over 500 plants in 12 varieties. There will be lots of craft vendors, yummy food, cookies, gelato, and lavender-infused coffee drinks, as well as the famous Lavender Lemonade. The Gift Shoppe will be loaded with unique products created from the lavender on the farm. Click this link for more details.

Southwest Washington Juried Exhibition, July 10 - August 17
See a juried show of art from Southwest Washington! The Southwest Washington Juried Exhibition comes to SPSCC’s Leonor R. Fuller Gallery from July 10 to Aug. 17, 2023, and will be juried by artist and Grays Harbor College art professor Nathan Barnes. The opening reception will be held on Thursday, July 13, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Artists working in all media and residing in Clark, Cowlitz, Grays Harbor, Lewis, Mason, Pacific, Pierce, Skamania, Thurston, or Wahkiakum counties will be included in the show. 2023 Primary Election Candidate Forums, July 6 - August 1
The League of Women Voters of Thurston County,  in collaboration with Thurston Community Media, invites voters to view candidate forums featuring election candidates. The forums are now available on Comcast Channel 77 and via YouTube through Thurston Community Media. They also can be accessed through the League’s website. Click this link for more details.
