Thurston County renews Adobe software tools for the year

The Thurston County Board of Commissioners (BOCC) approved the maintenance renewal with computer software by the company Adobe for one more year during its meeting on the first day of August.

County’s Information Technology (IT) Director Sherrie Ilg said the maintenance renewal would amount to $77,904.37, and the BOCC authorized her to execute the agreement and any amendments that do not exceed 10%.

“Adobe software is used throughout the county to conduct day-to-day business,” said Ilg during the regular public meeting on Tuesday.

Ilg explained that the amount is included in the county’s IT 2023 budget and “is funded by rates charged to appropriate offices and departments.”

“We can’t conduct business without having the adequate tools,” said Commissioner Gary Edwards.

According to the staff report, the annual renewal supports the county's strategic initiative number 17: “Make strategic investments in information technology systems and infrastructure.”

Tuesday’s meeting was shorter than the usual public meetings of the board because no one came forward during the public testimony part of the meeting.

The Adobe software maintenance and renewal was the meeting’s sole agenda under department items.
