Thurston County introduces new Taxpayer Transparency Tool

Posted

Thurston County launched an online Taxpayer Transparency Tool that allows taxpayers to learn how their county property taxes are allocated among various county offices and departments.

“The Commissioner’s Budget Office is committed to enhancing fiscal transparency. This tool addresses the common question asked by citizens on where their property tax go,” stated Budget and Fiscal Manager Nicole Martinez.

Taxpayers can access the tool in this link or directly from the Thurston County Budget website.

“We welcome all taxpayers to see how their property taxes support General Fund public services here in the county,” Martinez added.

Only General Fund expenditures are included by this new tool. Taxes for county roadways, school districts, fire districts, the state, and other taxing jurisdictions are not included.
