Oly Town Artesians continued on its winning streak away from home, beating their hosts Portland Blacktails 9-4 at the Indoor Goals Soccer Center in Beaverton, Oregon, on Sunday. They cruised to a three-game winning streak to maintain their pole position on the Washington Inland Soccer League table.

Trailing from an early goal from the hosts courtesy of Kevin Escobar 12 minutes in the first quarter, Oly Town captain Collin Tate stepped up to the challenge as he tapped in an equalizer, his 30th career goal. Five minutes later, he tied the all-time Oly Town record for goals scored.

Motivated by the record from the Oly Town skipper, the Artesians piled up four goals before halftime, with goals from Manny Nicasio, Yuta Shimazu, Alex Vogt, and Mitchell Balmer to close the half at 5-1.

The Blacktails tried to come close early after the halftime break with a solitary goal at the third, but Oly Town was just unstoppable coming to the fourth. Asa Moncivias scored a brace early in the fourth quarter. At the same time, Nicasip and Shimazu got their second goals of the game, respectively, to hand the Artesians three wins in a row and lead the league going into the Thanksgiving Break.

Oly Town will continue to defend its lead as they visit the defending champions Bellingham United in a rematch of last year’s semifinal on December 10, Saturday, 7:30 p.m. kickoff at the Bellingham Sportsplex.
