Saint Martin’s University Athletics is celebrating its centennial with Saints Athletics by launching a campaign highlighting notable moments and memories in "100 Years, 100 Stories."

The Centenary of Saint Martin's Athletics honors generations of student-athletes, coaches, alumni and supporters of Saints Athletics dating back to the university’s first conference competition in 1926.

Since 1926, the athletics program has grown into 15 National Collegiate Athletic Association Division varsity sports and has been a charter member of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) since its founding in 2001.

“Saint Martin’s University Athletics is celebrating a century of competitive sports, honoring 100 years of student-athlete achievement, team championships, and a legacy rooted in leadership, character and community,” states the university in an announcement about the  campaign.

Among the defining moments in Saints Athletics history are when its teams joined a conference (Washington-Oregon Conference) for the first time in 1926, and when the men’s basketball team won the GNAC regular season title and tournament championship in 2026.

“While the centenary celebrates an extraordinary past, it also looks forward to the future. Saints Athletics remains committed to providing transformational opportunities for student-athletes while building competitive championship programs,” said the university in the announcement.

To celebrate the centennial year, fans, alumni and the community are encouraged to follow the campaign, attend season games, reconnect with former teammates and celebrate the people who have supported Saints Athletics.

“As we celebrate this remarkable milestone, we honor the generations of Saints whose dedication, perseverance and commitment have built a tradition of excellence,” said Bill Brownsberger, president of Saint Martin’s University, in a statement.
