TCSO detectives arrest two in ongoing homicide investigation of a body dumped near Nisqually River

Thurston County Sheriff's Office (TCSO) detectives have made arrests in connection with the homicide of Robert Erwin, whose body was found buried near the Nisqually River on June 4, according to the TCSO news release. 

The victim, a transient in his early 40s from the Yelm area, had been reported missing weeks prior to the discovery. 

Since finding the victim's body, detectives have conducted extensive investigations, including numerous interviews and a review of critical evidence. 

On June 13, with the assistance from the Yelm Police Department, Tumwater Police Department, and the Thurston County Narcotics Task Force, TCSO detectives arrested and booked a man, identified as Danny Lee Alford, and a woman in her mid-30s from the Yelm area.  

The suspects face charges of first-degree rendering criminal assistance, tampering with physical evidence, and unlawful disposal of human remains.
