According to a Thurston County Sherrif’s Office news release, after several weeks of investigation, detectives have located the body of a missing man, believed to have been murdered, near Yelm.
On June 4, detectives discovered a body in a shallow grave near the Nisqually River, just outside of Yelm.
On June 6, the Coroner’s Office identified the body as Robert Erwin.
The deceased, a transient in his early 40s from the Yelm area, was reported missing weeks ago.
Despite multiple tips and leads, detectives were not able to locate the missing man, until the discovery of the body.
His family has been notified of his death, and the homicide investigation is ongoing.
Detectives are following up on numerous information surrounding Erwin's death and are urging anyone with information to contact them via email.
