An Olympia man accused of a standoff with police after allegedly starting a fire in his apartment building has been evicted.

Court documents show that the Thurston County Superior Court ordered the eviction of Danny Pollock and the return of his apartment unit to Maven Properties, the plaintiff in the case.

“Thurston County Sheriff is authorized and ordered to (break if necessary) enter into the above premises and to restore possession of said premises to the plaintiff,” a Feb. 17 document read.

Pollock, 55, was arrested on Feb. 12 on suspicion of starting a fire in his unit at Bayview Apartments and later refusing to comply with police, leading to an hours-long standoff that involved the Thurston County SWAT.

Police officers who responded to the incident said Pollock refused to exit his apartment and held on to a butcher knife as he challenged authorities to enter his home.

“Mr. Pollock caused and has continued to cause, both before and since the original nuisance notice was served, a significant and immediate risk to the health or safety of others, mostly his neighboring units,” Maven Properties said in a Feb. 15 affidavit.

Information from the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office shows that Pollock is being held at the Thurston County Jail on a $15,000 bail for second-degree assault while armed and another $15,000 bail for first-degree arson.
