Scoundrels: The Life of Susie Lewis

Posted

Susie Lewis, a Tumwater native, faced a series of disasters over a century ago: abuse, shattered families, infidelity, murder, desertion, divorce, a child's death, and deadly sickness. And her miseries persisted after she died.

Curator Karen Johnson gives an illustrated true-crime discussion about Susie's life and loves, as well as the scoundrels who pursued her until her death.

Karen Johnson has been working at museums since 2001. She has produced several history articles and two books on a Washington pioneer. She is now the curator and editor of the Thurston County Historical Journal at the Olympia Tumwater Foundation.
