Quilt Show by Quiltmakers of Olympia

Posted

Quiltmakers of Olympia will present a quilt show with something for everyone.

There will be lots of amazing, beautiful quilts made by the members. Old quilts; new quilts; quilts of all colors and sizes and designs. There will also be some dolls and wearables for all to see.

Feeling lucky? Then this is the event for you. There will be several gift baskets with fun themes to raffle: pie of the month, family art supplies, quilting (duh!), baby, chocolate, and lots lots more. Tickets are priced at $1 each.

The team will also raffle some gorgeous quilts: a vintage quilt, a new one made by a member, and a bright new quilt made by many members. Tickets are priced at $1 each.

There will also be a kids' raffle quilt. Tickets are free (1 per child)! Attendees can also expect a mini scavenger hunt and kids can win additional tickets.

Quiltmakers will have lots of fun stuff to buy that you didn't know you needed. The Boutique will have great new gift items made for this event by our members.

For thrifty shoppers, gently used quilting and sewing supplies will be available at the Quilters' Attic. Be sure to check out the "tons" of fabric, too.

And the shopping doesn't end there! They have some great vendors lined up who will be happy to see you. They will also have wonderful gift items and sewing supplies.

You can even bring your scissors, knives, and tools to be sharpened while you are admiring the quilts and shopping inside.

Cash, checks, and Venmo payments will be accepted by the guild. The vendors may accept credit cards and other forms of payment.

All proceeds go to Quiltmakers of Olympia,  a non-profit organization. We provide approximately 200 quilts, and many other needed items, to several charities in Thurston County each year. Stop and talk to the members at the Community Service display.

Come and be inspired whether you are a long-time quilter or you don't know one end of a sewing machine from the other. Don't know what FQs, BOMs, and PIGS are? It doesn't matter. You'll have a good time.

If you have time and energy left, check out these two other local fiber-related shows on the same days (Oct 4 & 5):

  1. Quilt display by Rubystreet Art Quilters and South Sound Modern Quilt Guild. Lacey Timberland Library. Free.
  2. Annual sale and demonstration by the Olympia Weavers' Guild. Thurston County Fairgrounds. Free
