Pumpkin Carving

Strengthening Communities through Gardening

Posted

Fall into community fun with pumpkin carving and painting at this FRet event! You! Learn how to use seeds by either drying them to plant next season or roasting them to eat.

Join the South Sound YMCA for free community events, open to the public. Community members may build relationships through gardening fun!

Earlier this year, in partnership with GRuB and the Thurston Conservation District, the South Sound YMCA began creating community gardens at Tiny Home Villages that reside in the City of Olympia and a few of the community-based gardens around the local Olympia Community (Yauger, Sunrise, and the Olympia Community Court Garden). Community members and organizations come together to plant fruits and vegetables alongside residents of each tiny home village providing an opportunity to connect with one another while also providing fresh produce for the residents.

This program provides fresh produce, fun gardening workshops, and education about healthy living.

The gardens serve as an additional opportunity for residents to heal, connect with the community, and work towards establishing new and improved lifestyle habits.

Stop by one of the events below and join in fostering a community where everyone belongs.
