Phantom of the Paradise

The Olympic Film Society will host a special screening of the 1974 film Phantom of the Paradise, with live music from a cast of local favorites.

The film, directed by Brian de Palma, tells the story of Winslow Leach, a singer-songwriter who is tricked by a legendary music producer into sacrificing his life’s work – and his soul. In revenge, the composer dons a menacing new persona and proceeds to terrorize the producer’s new concert hall (The Paradise), insisting his music be performed by adored singer, Phoenix.

Amy Shephard, whose father Will Shephard played the role of “Rock Freak,” a featured extra in the film, will co-produce the event alongside the Olympia Film Society.
