Pet owners, ‘Leash the ones you love’ when walking them outdoors ––Joint Animal Services

Posted

With the start of summer and longer days, Joint Animal Services (JAS) is reminding pet owners to be more mindful of their pets' activities, especially when walking outdoors.

“Most dogs love to go on walks, and it’s good for them,” JAS reminded in a press release that pets should always be on a leash unless in designated off-leash parks to help prevent dogs from chasing wildlife, people, or other dogs and ensure you have control in case of an emergency.

Pet owners should also make sure their dogs and cats wear collars with current ID tags.

Even indoor pets can escape and get lost so microchipping pets is another effective way to keep them safe.

For those looking to add a new pet to their family, now is a great time to visit Joint Animal Services.
