Percival Creek Blanket Clothing Salvage

Join the community in making a positive impact by salvaging & recycling blankets for sustainable homeless outreach.

Volunteers are needed to help collect discarded blankets and clothing from campsites by the creek and around the tracks before city crews clean sweep the area later in the week.

Your efforts will help clean the area around the creek to ensure that salvaged items do not end up going directly to the landfill and are instead recycled and repurposed for homeless outreach. 

The Olympia Downtown Nightshift distributes 10-15 blankets / night, and as many coats, to individuals downtown. Collecting and washing discarded blankets and clothing is the best, most cost efficient and environmentally friendly & sustainable way to keep this constant supply on hand, instead of constantly adding new materials into the cycle of waste.
