On March 24, the Olympia Police Department (OPD) posted a request for public assistance in  identifying a suspect involved in an arson incident.

The Washington State Patrol located the suspect, and she has been identified.

In a report released by OPD, the suspect is accused of setting fire to a store employee's car after being asked to leave the premises.

The incident began when the suspect took items from a local store without paying.

“The suspect stole items from the store, then came back to use the restroom and was asked to leave. They returned shortly after and set fire to the employee's vehicle,” OPD stated in their report.

The suspect is described as a heavy-set female, as shown in the photo released by authorities.

She was seen driving an older model grey Toyota Camry with noticeable body damage on the driver's side and a missing hubcap on the front driver's side wheel.

The suspect is currently in custody at the Thurston County Jail.
