An Olympia man was booked on three felonies after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend in violation of a protection order and later refusing to let her exit their home.

The 31-year-old suspect was arrested on May 28 after his girlfriend reported that he was in the trailer they shared together despite there being an active no-contact order between them.

An officer contacted the suspect just as he was leaving their residence. He told police that he was aware of the no-contact order. While he was being arrested, he began yelling “I love you” at his girlfriend repeatedly, police said.

Police noted that the girlfriend was “visibly upset and hysterical.” She said that she argued with her boyfriend in the morning then met with his boss and one of his co-workers for dinner to help the suspect keep his job.

After meeting with his co-workers, the suspect and his colleague brought a woman back to the trailer to have sex, according to the girlfriend.

The girlfriend said she was in the living room while this happened and became upset. She said the suspect became physical with her after his co-worker and the other woman left.

Police report that the woman said the suspect grabbed her by her shirt collar, shoved her up against the bathroom wall, and pushed her to the ground when she tried to leave, the girlfriend told police.

When she tried to exit again, the girlfriend said, the suspect slammed the front door shut and blocked her way out. He also pushed her hard enough to cause her to fall to the ground.

The girlfriend said she then managed to leave and walk to a neighbor’s trailer, where she called 911. She recalled the suspect telling her, “B*tch, you’re going to f*cking regret it if you call the cops.”

Police said the girlfriend had marks on her neck from the assault, but she said they did not turn into bruises. She also had redness around her right eye but was unsure what caused it, since she did not remember getting hit in the face.

The girlfriend also told police that the suspect strangled her about two weeks prior to this incident, causing her to briefly lose consciousness and gasp for air. The suspect also slammed her into the couch during this encounter, she added.

The suspect was booked into the Thurston County Jail for unlawful imprisonment, second-degree assault, and first-degree burglary.
