Pretty Gritty Tours is thrilled to announce the start of its history and haunted walking tour of historic downtown Olympia, Washington, the capital of this great state! Published author Ira Wesley Kitmacher will be your guide. Ira is a published author (“Haunted Graveyard of the Pacific,” “Spirits Along the Columbia River,” “Monsters and Miracles,” and upcoming books on Puget Sound and America-wide folklore), Professor (Georgetown University, Portland State, others), and speaker (Oregon Ghost Conference, an upcoming filmed documentary, and others.)
 
You'll meet on the boardwalk in between the Olympia Oyster House (320 4th Avenue W) and the iconic "Kissing Statue," on 4th Avenue W, overlooking Percival Landing Park, Olympia's historic port of entry and talk about the region’s and city’s history and haunted folklore. You will then embark onto the streets of historic Olympia, exploring the city’s dark and haunted past and present. If you love history and ghost stories, then this walking tour is for you. This tour explores the legends behind the city’s founding, “mosquito fleet,” shipwrecks, shanghaiing, ghosts, other “undead,” and cryptids.
 
This is an outdoor walking tour, please dress for the weather as this tour is entirely outdoors. Please also be sure to wear comfortable shoes for walking.
