Olympia High School Theatre Arts presents “Noises Off”

Posted

Get ready to laugh out loud as Olympia High School Theatre Arts Department presents Michael Frayn's classic farce, "Noises Off," running from Oct. 18-19 and 24-26 at the Olympia High School Performing Arts Center.

Considered a modern theatre staple since its 1982 London premiere, "Noises Off" follows the chaotic lives of a touring theatre company performing a play within the play, titled "Nothing's On."  The audience is treated to a behind-the-scenes look at the company's final dress rehearsal before opening night, the chaos that ensues one month into their tour, and a performance near the end of their run where everything that can go wrong, does.

The play explores the ups and downs of a group of actors navigating the challenges of touring life, showcasing their resilience and camaraderie in the face of adversity.

"Noises Off" boasts an impressive theatrical history, with multiple international tours, five successful Broadway revivals, and a Tony Award nomination for Best Revival of a Play in 2022.  Critics and audiences have hailed the play as "the funniest farce ever written" and "the classic farce."

Don't miss this opportunity to experience this comedic masterpiece brought to life by the talented Olympia High School Theatre Arts Department.  Leave the stresses of the real world behind and enjoy a night of laughter and entertainment.
