Olympia High School Alumni recognizes distinguished alumni

An award-winning news photographer, an environmental sculpture artist and a retired teacher will be recognized by the Olympia High School Alumni Association in a ceremony at the school’s Performing Arts Center, June 6, with a reception beginning at 6 p.m., and ceremony beginning at 7 p.m. The public is invited to attend the free event that will also recognize scholarship recipients from the OHS class of 2022.

Greg Gilbert, class of 1964, has photographed for the Seattle Times more than half a century. His professional photojournalism began as a photographer for the Olympian newspaper.

Angela (Haseltine) Pozzi, class of 1976, is famed for her art sculptures created from garbage that has washed up on the ocean beaches in Oregon.

Kathy Dorgan is a retired teacher from Olympia High School.

The OHS Alumni Association will also award $8,000 among six scholarships to graduating seniors:

  • Emma Bradley
  • Sophia Gruber
  • Cora Teachout
  • Harper Gould
