Multiple charges for driver arrested after police pursuit

Thurston County Sheriff's Office (TCSO) deputies attempted to stop a vehicle in the Lacey area in the early morning of June 9 for not having a front license plate.

The vehicle fled, leading deputies on a chase permitted under a new law that allows pursuits for any law violation.

The chase proceeded through south Lacey to Yelm Highway, where deputies attempted a PIT maneuver.

“As a result, the suspect vehicle was not able to negotiate the corner as it tried to flee into the Indian Summer neighborhood and crashed onto the lawn,” TCSO stated in the news release.

When the driver tried to re-enter the roadway in the wrong direction, a sergeant performed a Tactical Vehicle Intervention, bringing the vehicle to a stop.

The male driver, then fled on foot, abandoning his female passenger.

After a short pursuit, the sergeant apprehended and arrested the driver.

A search warrant was approved and when inspected, “the vehicle yielded drug paraphernalia, potentially stolen mail, and tape-lined bags which are used to engage in retail theft to defeat metal detectors in stores.”

The driver faces charges of driving under the influence of narcotics, attempting to elude law enforcement, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving without a license.

The vehicle was impounded, and the patrol car sustained minor damage.

On June 6, 2024, a Dezi-Ray Thomas Arnez Louie was arrested by Sheriff’s deputies with these charges.

Let me guess, the female was released, despite all that stuff that they use to boost (shoplift). How about the stolen mail?
