You don't necessarily have to live in Lacey to participate

Lacey has announced the launch of its Human Services Grant Program for 2024, which will allocate up to $300,000.

A Lacey press release said the city is seeking the participation of seven dedicated community members to form an ad hoc Human Services Workgroup.

This workgroup will review the 2024 Human Services grant applications, advise the City Council for the 2024 funding allocations, conduct human-services needs assessments, recommend long-term funding priorities, and recommend a human services advisory board.

The workgroup will hold meetings at least once a month or, when needed, throughout the year.

The workgroup will consist of at least five members who reside in Lacey, with two members residing in the Lacey Urban Growth area. Out of the seven members, two members are preferred to have experience in human services, wherein the residency requirement may be waived.

Members of the workgroup can opt-in for a stipend of $50 per regular meeting, capped at a maximum of $500 for the whole year. The application for interested individuals is open and will close on Friday, April 12.

To apply, visit the City of Lacey website.

For inquiries or further information, interested parties can contact Michelle Chavez, the Human Services Coordinator, at (360) 486-8746 or via email.
