The Lacey Police Department arrested a man for criminal impersonation and a felony warrant past noon on Wednesday, January 3, in the woods on the city’s property.

When approached by the police in the act of using a hypodermic needle on himself, the suspect, who first identified himself by a name that wasn’t his, tried to hide the needle from the authorities.

The suspect admitted that the syringe contained methamphetamine mixed with water and also that there was more in his possession.

Police found a plastic baggie in the suspect’s possessions.

“I observed what I believed to be methamphetamine in the baggie,” an officer wrote in his report. “I later field tested it and it returned as being presumptively positive as methamphetamine.”

The suspect also admitted he used his brother’s name the first time police asked for his identity and that his real name was Alexander L. Lopez, with dispatch informing the officers that the suspect had a felony DOC warrant.

The suspect did not resist when police placed him under arrest for impersonation of his brother and drug/narcotics violation.

The responding officers brought the suspect to the Thurston County Jail, where he was booked for criminal impersonation in the first degree and a felony warrant and forwarded charges for possession of controlled charges.
