An alleged physical altercation between two Lacey men ended with a bitten nose and an arrest.

Lacey police said Jimmy Robertson, 33, was arrested on Tue., Mar. 1, after a reported disturbance in the 3300 block of College Street.

Robertson admitted to police that he assaulted his roommate because he grew tired of him allegedly physically and verbally abusing his girlfriend.

The reporting party told dispatchers that she could hear three people screaming in a nearby apartment unit. Another individual called and identified himself as one of the individuals involved in the incident.

The second caller, a 30-year-old man, told responding police officers that he and his girlfriend had been arguing all day and their roommate, later identified as Robertson, got fed up with it.

The man said he and Robertson were having a verbal argument when the suspect allegedly slammed him to the ground, got on top of him, choked him, then bit his nose.

Police noted redness, swelling, and a small laceration on the man’s nose as well as redness and bruising on his neck.

The girlfriend locked herself in a bedroom to avoid contact with her boyfriend for the night because he was drunk, according to Robertson.

The roommate refused to leave his girlfriend alone, Robertson said, and kicked open the bedroom door to force his way in.

Robertson said he feared that the roommate would hurt his girlfriend, so he grabbed both of his shoulders and threw him to the ground.

The suspect admitted that he got on top of his roommate, choked him, and bit him on the nose.

Police said Robertson expressed remorse about the incident and disclosed having anger issues.

The girlfriend told police that she saw the two men wrestling on the ground but did not witness her boyfriend getting choked or bitten by Robertson. She also denied any physical abuse by her boyfriend.

Robertson was booked at the Thurston County Jail for second-degree assault. His roommate received medical clearance from the Lacey Fire Department but was not charged.
