Steven L. Messex, wanted by the Olympia Police Department (OPD) for the July 20 shooting incident that led to the death of the victim, was arrested yesterday, August 1.
The 43-year-old suspect was taken into custody in an OPD post through the joint efforts of OPD, Thurston County Sheriff Narcotics Task Force, Thurston County SWAT, and other neighboring agencies.
On July 22, OPD urged the public to call 911 for any information about the suspect and the homicide incident.
Authorities even offered a reward to anyone who could provide information that would lead to the suspect's arrest.
Authorities have not disclosed the details of the suspect’s arrest and the homicide incident as this is still an ongoing investigation.
