An Olympia Police Department (OPD) officer on patrol late into the night of July 7, observed a vehicle driving through downtown without functioning headlights and brake lights.
According to the OPD post, the officers approached the driver at a nearby gas station in 1000 block of Plum Street SE.
The officer noticed a handgun and lockbox in plain view on the driver’s side floor and identified paraphernalia and items in connection to narcotics dealing inside the vehicle.
“A search warrant was served on the vehicle and officers recovered the handgun, ammunition, powder fentanyl, marijuana, mushrooms, a scale, plastic baggies, a glass pipe, and $365 cash,” OPD stated in the news release.
The suspect was arrested and booked into Thurston County Jail on charges of second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm, three counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver while armed, and an outstanding warrant for third-degree theft.
