Two Good Samaritans acted like they were helping an intoxicated man fix his vehicle’s blown tire until Olympia police could arrive, on Wed., Aug. 11, just before 8 p.m.

Brandon A. Sturtz, 29, of Yelm, was witnessed crashing into two curbs, blowing out one tire before pulling into the Mobil 1 gas station at 2303 Pacific Ave SE., according to Olympia Police.

While two good Samaritans pretended to help Sturtz fix his tire, one stepped aside to call 911.

When law enforcement arrived, they found Sturtz stumbling and losing his balance while in a squatted position over the tire. According to the police report, Sturtz admitted to having a pitcher of beer across the street at the Boulevard Tavern.

Sturtz failed the field sobriety test, and blew a .149 on the preliminary breath test.

Later, Sturtz blew a 0.189 on the Draeger, more than twice the legal limit of 0.08.

Sturtz admitted to having several alcoholic beverages throughout the day.

Sturtz was booked into the Olympia Jail for driving under the influence.
