Bloomtacular “Rhod” Trip

Posted

This garden tour centers around rhododendrons in the peak of May bloom.  We will tour two rhododendron gardens, a bonsai exhibit, and rose and iris gardens. At the Rhododendron Botanical Species Garden in Federal Way, we will get a guided tour and time to shop the nursery and gift shop. You can also stroll over to the neighboring Pacific Bonsai Museum to see a collection of 150 bonsai that are among the finest examples of bonsai anywhere in the world. Then we’re off to lunch before our next stop at Point Defiance Park. Here you can expect to see blooming roses, the iris garden, and the Rhododendron Species Garden, which is nestled amongst old-growth trees and highlights the wilder side of our marvelous diverse state flower. Expect gravel paths and slight inclines, but a leisurely pace.
