Wow, this is the FIRST I'm hearing about this, from a weekly email from Olympia Indivisible...and I stay updated locally more than most. This is really flying under the radar and sounds like a poorly developed ask. I'm unhappy about the dark ways the County has decided to bring very important issues to vote, such as the debacle of the expensive new County Courthouse during a strange Spring/Covid vote (which didn't end up happening as it was so contentious).

Far too little is revealed about this tax's specifics, it has the suspiciously euphemistic title as a 'safety' tax and it's also suspect that such little time was given for any opposition. They should be more careful on such fronts as those seem like the tactics of scoundrels.

Also, a 2/10ths increase is HUGE in a region of economically burdened population and already high local sales tax...especially regressive for those least able to pay for it.

This is a big NO for me.
