Hi Jill - I really enjoyed this. I'd add my own observation: I enjoy my perennial bed from a slight distance than close up. I think that is the best way to view me as well. Enjoyed the "good hair/bad hair metaphor. And - floriferousness - is that a word you and your border put together? Hesperis is new to me - I shall look it up.
