A 32-year-old woman was arrested after an incident at a Walmart on Yelm Highway SE in Lacey that involved alleged assaults on a store employee and police officer.
The incident occurred on the afternoon of August 18, when officers were dispatched at about 2:08 p.m. for a call about a disturbance inside the store, the Lacey Police Department said in a report.
The store employee told police that a customer had become combative and physically shoved him before leaving the store.
“He stated she approached him, chest bumped him, and pushed him with her arms and hands,” a responding officer stated in the report.
The store also provided closed circuit television footage showing the suspect’s assault of their employees.
Authorities located the suspect, later identified as Bridget Marie Wallace, walking near Yelm Highway.
During the arrest process, the suspect reportedly became agitated and kicked an officer several times.
Wallace was later transported to Thurston County Corrections Facility. She faces one count of third-degree assault, for the alleged assault on the officer. She also faces one count of fourth-degree assault, which is related to the incident with the store employee. In addition, Wallace is banned from entering Walmart.
