2023 Thurston County Fair, Weekend, July 26 - 30

Fair hours: 10-9 Wed & Thurs, 10-10 Fri & Sat, 10-8 Sun
The mission of the Thurston County Fair is to provide a community celebration that educates, promotes, and showcases the agricultural, business, industry, and home life of Thurston County citizens of all ages. The Thurston Fair has existed for over 150 years and counting. Check out the website for a schedule of events and ticketing information. There is fun for everyone!  Enjoy carnival rides, meet the animals, marvel at the beautiful craftwork of local artists, dance your heart out with live bands, and get all your favorite fair foods like scones, funnel cakes, and cotton candy! Mosaic: Tacoma’s Arts and Culture Festival, Weekend, July 29 - July 30, 12 p.m. - 7 p.m.
Celebrate Tacoma’s arts and cultures! Mosaic: Tacoma’s Arts and Culture Festival brings together a free kaleidoscope of dance, music, art, food, and family fun, set under the shady trees of Wright Park Saturday, July 29, and Sunday, July 30, from noon - 7 p.m. Help kick off the weekend at 11 a.m. on July 29 by joining the Walk of Destiny, then stay for entertainment on two stages, food and craft vendors, beer garden, kids zone and more. Ship of Fools: A Giant Puppet Odyssey, Saturday, July 29
This summer, String & Shadow is bringing audiences a new show called “Ship of Fools: A Giant Puppet Odyssey.” In it, three mimes set sail from the Port of Styx across the mythical boundary waters connecting the world of the living to the underworld. Under layers of colorful fabric and dancing cardboard, Ship of Fools deals with themes of loss and acceptance, depicting a wondrous unknown and speaking to the power of friendship and love. It is brought to life by three mimes, three musicians, and six puppeteers. Click this link for more details.

Visioning and Art in the Forest, Sunday, July 30
In this two-part workshop series presented by Thurston Climate Action Team, participants will explore how art can bring about positive changes in ourselves, our communities, and beyond. Through meditation, ritual, art, and deep listening, participants will envision futures where they all can thrive, make art, and support one another in developing their art for change.
