Christmas has started here in Thurston County. Check out some events featuring Santa and his generous crew of charity helpers.

 

Plum Street Resource Fair, Friday, December 1, 1  – 4 p.m.
 Community members are invited for an opportunity to collect items from the drive and connect with local providers to assist with any needs they may have. Click this link for more details.

Winter Clothing Drive for Thurston County Point in Time Count, up to January 19, 1 – 3 p.m.
Do you have any new or gently used winter clothing you don't want anymore? Donate it to the county's winter clothing drive. The venue will accept donations every Friday. They will provide donations to homeless locals during the annual Point in Time Count Homeless Census on January next year. Click this link for more details. 

Free Pictures with Santa, Friday, December 1, 5 – 7 p.m.
Join City of Yelm Staff and the big guy in red for FREE Pictures with Santa on Christmas in the Park Eve! They will have free printed pictures for attendees. Stay afterward for a sneak peek of Yelm City Park's Christmas lights as Santa switches them on before starting pictures. Click this link for more details.

 Signing Santa, Friday, December 1, 6:30 - 9 p.m.
The Signing Santa program, presented by the Signing Santa Organization and Lacey Parks, Culture & Recreation, brings children who are deaf or hard of hearing and their families, friends, and the community together. It’s a chance for all children to gather and see the spirit of giving, seek new friends, and promote awareness of the deaf community to all. Click this link for more details.

Winter Faire by Olympia Waldorf School, Saturday, December 2, 11 a.m.  - 3 p.m.
Fun for all ages, Winter Faire is a magical celebration of the season open to everyone! Join this holiday maker's market, a Fairy Shoppe for children to buy gifts and food trucks. There will also be various children's activities, including beeswax candle dipping, puppet play, crafts, jump rope making, a treasure hunt, Cooking Kingdom, and a visit with the Snow Queen!  Olympia Yacht Club Parade of Lighted Ships, Saturday, December 2
Boats decorated for the holidays will travel from the Olympia Yacht Club (OYC) up through Budd Inlet to Boston Harbor Marina and back. The public is invited to watch the free parade from Port Plaza, where Santa and Mrs. Claus will be handing out candy canes, coffee, and hot cocoa starting at 5:30 (while supplies last).  Click this link for more details.
