August surely began as a sunny month! Brace yourselves for another week full of amazing activities as we welcome another August week. 

 

Pier Peer at Boston Harbor Marina, August 11th, from 8 P.M. - 10 P.M. 

Come discover the mysterious creatures that live below the pier at Boston Harbor Marina! Trained biologists will provide underwater lights that attract spectacular estuary creatures for you to safely scoop up and observe, while the volunteers help you discover, identify and learn more about what you’ve found. From octopus to anemones, from sea stars to sea slugs, you never know what you’ll encounter! Pier Peer is one of our most popular events, so register early to ensure your spot. Meet the Beach, August 12-14, from 2 P.M.

Join at your favorite local beaches during low tides. Trained Beach Naturalists provide visitors with resources to learn about the intertidal plants and animals in our extraordinary and unique estuaries.  Expand your appreciation of the Puget Sound while spending a day on the beach! Discover sea stars, snails, crabs, jellyfish, and everything in between - just look for the bright green vests with “Volunteer” written on the back!

Screen on the Green: Spider-Man: No Way Home, August 12, from 7:0 P.M.

Tumwater Parks and Recreation is bringing the screen to you! The first two movies in the series will be shown at local parks; Barclift Park and Tumwater Hill Park, while the final two movies will be shown at our traditional location at the Tumwater Valley Golf Course. KGY's Centennial Community Picnic

The Sustainable Steps EcoTour is a self-guided tour of sustainable, green-built, and adapted homes, farms, businesses, and organizations throughout the Olympia area. LoveOly SummerFest, August 13, from 1:00 P.M.

LoveOly SummerFest is back in historic Downtown Olympia! So are the amazing live music and activities for kids and families. Enjoy interactive art installations from local artists, engage with community groups and stop at the Biergarten with local seasonal libations from 3 Magnets Brewing Co., Well 80 Brewhouse, and Whitewood Cider Co. Estuary Explorers Summer Camp (6th-8th Grade), August 15, from 9:00 A.M.

Explore the natural wonders of South Sound and discover the wild world of estuaries! This summer you can investigate the plants and animals living in Puget Sound, while learning how to become a steward of the environment through the Puget Sound Estuarium’s Summer Camps! Olympia Lamplighters Free Night, August 16, from 5:00 P.M. - 10:00 P.M.

Every Tuesday night there is a Free Night from 5-10 PM. Come on in to enjoy a fun time with others. Themes don't have to be adhered to, enjoy whatever you want to work on.
