Authorities in Lacey have recovered an allegedly stolen generator that they found while conducting a welfare check.

According to a series of tweets by the Lacey Police Department, a patrol officer  a Crisis Response Unit (CRU) officer were dispatched to a welfare check yesterday, August 9.

While at the scene, the CRU officer noticed a truck at the location had a generator in the back.

Later in the day, the same officers responded to the City Shop after a reported theft.

“It was discovered that someone had entered the premises overnight, broken into a van, and stolen — you guessed it — a generator,” Lacey police said.

CRU officers in Olympia located the truck with the generator in the back.

The serial number confirmed that the generator in the truck was the same one allegedly stolen from the store.
