An allegedly intoxicated person allegedly crashed into two parked cars before hitting a parked semi-truck, after speeding through a downtown intersection just after midnight on Sun., Aug. 15.

Rolando “Carla” Zaldivar Ivirico, 26, of Olympia, was witnessed driving her Chevrolet Cobalt at what the witness said was “over 50” mph through the State Avenue and Jefferson Street intersection, colliding with several cars in the process. State Avenue’s speed limit is 25 mph.

According to the police report, Zaldivar’s vehicle was swerving and driving erratically, hitting a Honda, then a parked Subaru, before driving into the back of a semi-truck. One of the witnesses was a pedestrian who stated to Olympia police that they feared being hit by Zaldivar’s vehicle as it careened down the road toward them, causing collisions along the way.

Zaldivar admitted to drinking “two beers” at the 4th Avenue Tavern prior to getting behind the wheel.

According to the police report, Zaldivar was unable to keep her balance, stumbling for a couple of steps, continuing to state that she had only drunk only two beers.

Zaldivar failed the field sobriety test but was unable to provide a breath sample. Police requested a blood draw warrant. After transporting Zaldivar to Capital Medical Center, technicians there drew the customary two-vial sample.  She was transported to Olympia Jail, booked on driving under the influence, reckless driving and reckless endangerment.
