The Lacey Police Department has apprehended one of the fraternal twins who are wanted for the murder of a Kenmore man in August.

Alexander VanDuren, 32, is now in police custody while his twin Nicholas is still at large with a warrant for second-degree murder, Lacey police said in a media release.

The suspects were identified after a lengthy investigation into the death of 36-year-old Sean Shay earlier this year.

On August 30 at around 9:26 p.m., Lacey officers responded to a hotel in the 100 block of College Street SE after a reported physical disturbance.

Callers said one man was lying in the parking lot behind the hotel, while two men involved in the incident left in a gray Toyota Camry with temporary plates.

Officers found Shay unconscious with head injuries. He was brought to Providence St. Peter Hospital but died from his injuries.

Nicholas was pictured with a tattoo of an ace of spades card on his right shoulder, along with multiple other tattoos that cover his chest. Police also said he drives a dark gray 2016 Ford Fusion with license plate CEJ9093.

People with information about the suspect are asked to call 911, Lacey police at 360-459-4333, or CrimeStoppers at 800-222-TIPS.
