Tourtellotte-Palumbo elected as president of Olympia School District Board of Directors

The Olympia School District Board of Directors elected Jess Tourtellotte-Palumbo as president and Maria Flores as vice president for the 2025-26 academic year. 

The board made the decisions at a Dec. 11 regular meeting, the first meeting for newly sworn-in members Renee Fullerton, Director of District 3, and Gilbert Lamont, Director of District 5. 

The board also appointed members to serve as liaisons and representatives to various groups. 

  • Olympia Schools Supportive Education Council: Jess Tourtellotte-Palumbo  
  • Olympia School District Education Foundation: Maria Flores 
  • Student Engagement Team: Jess Tourtellotte-Palumbo and Renee Fullerton 
  • Thurston Regional Planning Council: Hilary Seidel 
  • Washington Interscholastic Activities Association: Renee Fullerton 
  • Washington State School Directors' Association Legislative (WSSDA): Gilbert Lamont  

The new officers will serve from January 2026 to December 2026, except for the WSSDA, which is a two-year term. 

Fullerton and Lamont took their oaths of office before the election and reorganization.
