Meanwhile, Ashley Arai, bringing expertise in land use planning and development, is now the new Director of Community Planning and Economic Development (CPED).
Hernandez commended Arai’s experience.

“I look forward to expanding our conservation efforts, working alongside our community partners, and addressing long-standing concerns regarding our codes and our permitting processes," Arai said.
Hernandez also highlighted the leadership qualities of the new appointees, noting that all three had previously excelled in interim capacities before being formally selected through competitive processes.
“So, we look forward to working with you and your policy direction, and then as leaders, to continue to move that forward the rest of this year and into 2025,” Hernandez added.
