Three minors booked over alleged auto theft

Three juveniles were booked after allegedly stealing a car and later fleeing from the owner on foot.

The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office (TSCO) said an auto theft was reported as in progress in Lacey on Saturday night, the victim reportedly transferred into another car to chase down their own stolen vehicle into the Nisqually area.

Three young men eventually parked the car, exited, and left the scene on foot, the Sheriff’s Office said. A Nisqually Tribal Officer found the minors walking and arrested them after they were positively identified by the vehicle owner as the people who took the car.

 “Thank you to Nisqually Tribal Police for your assistance on this call,” TSCO said

The juveniles were booked into Youth Services for auto theft. The stolen vehicle had a destroyed ignition as well as exterior damage.
