Students from the South Puget Sound Community College (SPSCC) Music Department will perform three concerts in June: Spring Jazz, Voices of Light and Visions in Sound.
The concerts will be held at the Kenneth J. Minnaert Center for the Arts main stage. The concertsare free to SPSCC students, staff and faculty, and $15 for general admission.
The first concert celebrates the end of the spring season with the SPSCC Jazz Band and Jazz Combo on Tuesday, June 9, at 7:30 p.m.
The next concert will feature the joint effort of the SPSCC chamber orchestra and soloists to perform Richard Einhorn’s masterpiece "Voices of Light" on Friday, June 12 at 7:30 p.m.
The piece is a live soundtrack for the 1928 film "The Passion of Joan of Arc." It is not recommended for children under the age of 13.
The SPSCC Symphony Orchestra will present the final concert, "Visions in Sound," featuring music from various films and video games, on Saturday, June 13, at 7:30 p.m.
Sources include "The Magnificent Seven," "Up," "How to Train Your Dragon," "Halo" and "Kingdom Hearts."
