The Olympia Family Theater (OFT)’s next MainStage production is The House at Pooh Corner, which will run from September 27 to October 13 at the theater in Olympia.
The play revolves around Christopher Robin's woodland adventure with his friends, Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, Eeyore, and others.
The joyous performance, adapted by Bettye Knapp, depicts the beloved works of A.A. Milne and is open to all ages.
Robin’s dilemma of being sent to school leads to a journey of running away to the North or South Pole with his friends. As the group partakes the journey, they grapple with the fear of the unknown and the strength of their friendship.
"The inhabitants of the Hundred Acre Wood have always held a special place in my heart,” said play Director Alayna Chamberland. “These stories are for everyone, and it has been a great honor to help bring them to the OFT stage.”
Chamberland is also the company’s Production Manager. “This show deals with several tricky situations for our cast of characters,” she added. “These are situations that we have all dealt with at some point in our lives, and watching the inhabitants of the Hundred Acre Wood go through it themselves is not only entertaining, but also healing.”
Through OFT’s Access-for-ALL Program, tickets to all MainStage Productions are on a sliding scale from free to $55. The recommended price is $25. More information and ticket reservations are available at OFT’s site.
