Temporary Road Closure on Waddell Creek Road SW on June 3 to 30

There will be a temporary closure of Waddell Creek Road SW, from 90th Lane SW to 86th Lane SW, starting June 3 and continuing until June 30, according to Thurston County Public Works. 

The objective of the closure is to replace culverts and ensure the road's long-term usability. 

During the closure, access will be open for local traffic, emergency vehicles, and essential services.  

Detour routes have been established for both southbound and northbound travelers, with clear signage and reader boards to guide motorists. 

Southbound detour routes: 

  1. From 86th Ln SW, go north on Waddell Creek Rd SW. 
  1. Turn right onto Delphi Rd SW after 0.7 miles. 
  1. Turn left onto 110th Ave SW after 3.4 miles. 
  1. Turn right onto Littlerock Rd SW after 1.0 mile. 
  1. Turn right onto 128th Ave SW after 2.2 miles. 
  1. Turn right onto Waddell Creek Rd SW after 0.8 miles. 
  1. Turn right at the intersection of Sherman Valley Rd SW and Waddell Creek Rd SW after 4.1 miles. 

Northbound detour routes: 

  1. Go south on Waddell Creek Rd SW from 90th Ln SW. 
  1. Turn left onto Waddell Creek Rd SW after 1.5 miles. 
  1. Turn left onto 128th Ave SW after 4.1 miles. 
  1. Turn left onto Littlerock Rd SW after 0.8 miles. 
  1. Turn left onto 110th Ave SW after 2.2 miles. 
  1. Turn right onto Delphi Rd SW after 1.0 mile. 
  1. Turn left onto Waddell Creek Rd SW after 3.4 miles. 

Residents and commuters are encouraged to plan additional travel time or find alternative routes.
