A person wanted on felony warrants was arrested in "The Jungle" homeless encampment in Olympia after trying to hide under a pile of debris.
The incident played out on Saturday, Oct. 10, when Thurston County Sheriff's Office K-9 Igo and his handler assisted deputies in a search of the suspect in The Jungle.
"The suspect had ignored repeated commands to come out and surrender. After searching through a maze of tents, makeshift structures, and clutter, Igo found the suspect hiding beneath furniture and other items," said Sheriff Derek Sanders in a social media pots.
"Turns out, all that effort to find a hiding spot didn't account for one very important thing: Igo's nose!
The suspect was taken into custody and treated at the hospital before being booked into jail. Igo once again showed why having a good (K-9) partner makes all the difference."
The felony warrants the suspect was wanted for included assault in the second degree and unlawful possession of a firearm in the second degree.
