A suspect wanted for an alleged rape and assault in Thurston County was arrested in El Paso, Texas, on Feb. 3.
A Thurston County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) report stated an investigation began on Sept. 29, 2024, when deputies responded to a rape complaint in the 3100 block of Overhulse Road NW.
The victim reported that an unknown male made entry into her home, physically and sexually assaulted her, and then fled. Deputies canvassed the area but were unable to locate the suspect.
A forensic sketch was created based on the victim’s description and shared on the TCSO’s social media page on Oct. 10, 2024.
In December 2024, DNA evidence analyzed by the Washington State Patrol Crime Lab identified the suspect as Xavier Jordan Carrol.
Detectives later discovered that the suspect had left Washington and was in El Paso.
TCSO contacted the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) for assistance.
“Once the warrant was entered into the national system, Texas DPS located and arrested the suspect while detectives traveled to El Paso to conduct an interview,” TCSO stated.
The 26-year old suspect waived extradition and was transported back to Washington, where he was booked into the Thurston County Jail. He faces charges of first-degree rape, second-degree rape, second-degree assault and residential burglary.

My heart goes out to the victim of this heinous crime. She will live with the trauma and horror of this violence against her, and I sincerely wish she's able to overcome this tragedy. If this man is found guilty, I hope he's given a long custodial sentence so that he never commits this crime again.
