FC Olympia to take on Salmon Bay FC in battle between top two women's teams in USL's Northwest Division

FC Olympia will square off against Salmon Bay FC in a USL Northwest Division women’s soccer match at the Regional Athletic Complex in Olympia on Friday, June 27.

FC Olympia must win or draw in order to make the USL playoffs.

The match, which begins at 7 p.m., is the final match of the year in Olympia. The complex is located at 8345 Steilacoom Road SE in Olympia.

FC Olympia (7-2) started the season winning seven straight games before suffering back-to-back losses to West Seattle (5-2-2) and Salmon Bay (7-1-2).

FC Olympia is paced offensively by forward Ginny Lackey of Manchester City, England, with 10 goals scored on the season. Lackey also plays NCAA Division I soccer at James Madison University.

On the defensive side, FC Olympia is led by goalie Faith Nguyen, who has only given up three goals in the 2025 season. Nguyen, who was on a NCAA national title winning team at UCLA, now plays Division I at Texas Tech.

FC Olympia said there will be a number of special activities for the final match at home, including the following:

• The match will feature a Happy Hour Beer Garden, which starts at 6 p.m. This is a special one-hour early access to watch warmups and get 15 percent off beer specials.

• Children and their families are invited to meet the teams after the match for autographs and photos on the field.

• There will also be a halftime kid's and adult soccer skills challenge, which will include distance shots, crossbar challenge and trivia.

• A total of $500 in gift cards have been donated to the Oly Soccer Foundation from Well 80 Brewhouse, Farrelli’s Pizza, Ember Goods, Casa Mia Italian Restaurants and Charro Mexican Restaurant for a special fan surprise on Friday night.

• All FC Olympia replica jerseys will be 10 percent off as well as special raffles for fans that come to the game. Lawn chairs, umbrellas, Pop-up tents (top of hill only) are allowed in the venue. Bleacher seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.

• Olympia Orthopaedic Associates is the presenting sponsor of the match and will be on hand to meet people.

• Tickets for the match are free for children 12 and under. General admission tickets are $15. All proceed go toward field rentals, travel, apparel and equipment each season.
