After a successful season of summer soccer in four different leagues, FC Olympia strengthened its path-to-pro goal for soccer players in the community as they announced that several of their players have signed for professional clubs nationwide or are going back to their universities to represent their colors in the upcoming NCAA and NAIA soccer seasons.
“I thought as a whole 2024 was one of the most successful years the Artesians have had, especially with the most pro athlete contracts signed,” said FC Olympia principal owner Ryan Perkins. “To see these amazing athletes in-person here in our backyard before they go big, I hope local kids get inspired by these athletes.”
Fresh from dominating the USL W League Northwest Division and getting their first win in the national playoffs, some players from the dominant Lady Artesians roster were acquired by pro clubs in the inaugural season of the USL Super League, which just kicked off two weeks ago. Shifty Artesian winger Mariah Lee was signed by DC Power while Oly legend Kailey Utley was acquired by Kentucky-based Lexington Sporting Club, and goalkeeper Neeku Purcell signed for Brooklyn FC.
Talent from this FC Olympia women’s side also caught the attention of top leagues outside the US, as defender Kaitlyn Abrams is set to fly to Serbia to join pro club ZFK Spartak Subotica competing in the Serbian Superliga. Additionally, Suzuka Yosue, who had a breakthrough season this summer, signed for Rethymniaki Enosi Athliton or REA, which competes in the Greek A Division.
Meanwhile on the USL2 Artesians side – which did not have the most ideal season this summer – defender Camron Miller signed a professional contract for Spokane Velocity in the USL1.
While the club celebrates their players who have now moved on to the professional scene, several FC Olympia players in the USL sides are returning to their NCAA programs across the country to compete in collegiate soccer this fall. Also, players from the Artesians II side which competed in the EPLWA and Cascadia PL 2 this summer also go back to their NCAA and NAIA teams for a busy autumn season.
Some Artesians were also commended for extending help on the club's grassroots campaign to their communities. Peyton Rhyne, an Artesian arena soccer standout, was a local youth soccer camp manager for most of the summer before reporting to Evergreen State College’s campus for fall camp, while Trevor Fetbrandt from the Tenino High School soccer program stepped in this August to oversee the Artesian camps and brought some amazing local coaches and player guests to help the youth talent camps.
Speaking of camps, stay tuned for fall clinics and winter camps with your FC Olympia Artesians.

When I saw pro, I thought of actual pro teams. Wow, a Tenino coach what a treat.
